Working products

Why does Working Products exist?

We want to create a place where product managers can share experiences and learn new things.
The development of innovative and successful digital services and products is extremely complex, has to be done very quickly and requires maximum customer and user focus.

This requires a product and customer culture within the company, new forms of organization and collaboration and the appropriate methods and processes. Mindfulness and mindful leadership are also becoming increasingly important.

Some companies are already very advanced in this area, while the rest are trying to catch up and learn from the pioneers. There is still a lot of room for improvement, especially in the day-to-day work of product managers. We are therefore inviting product leaders to share their experiences in presentations and to be available as discussion partners during the two days.
The Working Products Conference will thus become a place for intensive exchange.

This is how the two conference days run

The "Working Products" is different from other conferences.

"Working Products" is the conference for agile working as it was originally intended: free of hierarchical structures, no lecturing from above, no show. Agile working culture as it should be. At "Working Products", people with the same interests and topics come together. Experienced and committed speakers who have something to say as well as interested and motivated participants who make a difference. By spreading the presentations over 2 days and the moderated workshops and sessions, "Working Products" promotes exchange among like-minded people.
Without fear of contact, close and at eye level. Familiar and professional at the same time. As always, the supporting program includes meditation and mindfulness exercises, yoga and embodiment. You can also use a canoe for canoe tours on the canal in front of the Goldbekhaus.
As usual, the vegan-vegetarian catering will be provided by the wonderful Produktionsschule Altona.

"The special thing about the Working Products: In the end, everyone actually talked to everyone else for a longer time." (Rolf Schulte Strathaus)

Highlights of the Working Products 2023

This was the Working Products 2023

Somehow it was even better this year than in 2022. Maybe it was just because the weather in June is a bit friendlier than last September, when it was already quite cold and rainy.
Whatever the case, there was even more talking and laughing at Working Products #8. And everything, except the presentations and workshops, took place outdoors. Simply delightful.
Many familiar faces, many new participants, again in the Goldbekhaus, again with the super delicious catering from the Altona Production School.
It was a great 2 days. Familiar, intensive exchange of experiences between all participants, good lectures and workshops. Only the stand-up paddle boards were unfortunately not used this year, despite the sun and 26°. But maybe it would be stupid, if you fall into the Fleet...

Sponsors of the Working Products Conference

User Research with love

Our focus is on user-centered product discovery, user research and UX testing. Our drive: create perfect products - in a team and always with the user in focus. And that's exactly why we host the Working Products Conference every year.
Our interest: We bring customer and user understanding to product teams - permanently and sustainably.

Mindfulness training, coaching Conflict counseling/mediation for (agile) teams

Arbeitsfrische aims to make the world of work better. We combine experience with self-organization with coaching, mindfulness, yoga and embodiment, because we believe that long-term and sustainable change starts with each individual. New forms of collaboration also need a new mindset in each individual. The basics (empathy, listening, trust) need to be learned (again). If I practice mindfulness with myself and I train mindful interaction in the team, I can work successfully, healthy and satisfied in the long run.

Mindfulness as the basis for change

  • Without empathy I cannot understand others.
  • Without understanding there is no trust
  • Without trust no cooperation

Die Produktwerker - Concentrated Product Competence from Cologne

"We product workers want to promote the competence of product owners, product managers and product organizations to develop better products and services.
Produktwerker: Tim Klein, Dominique Winter & Oliver Winter. As experts for product development we got to know and appreciate each other in the agile community of Cologne. We joined forces in a cooperative to pool our knowledge, create joint offerings and share our years of experience with other product people.

We support the 8th Working Products as a cooperation partner because we know that there is room for topics at this special event that are talked about far too little at other conferences. Working Products is human, close & professional - just like us."

This year in the middle of St. Pauli at eparo!

We're trying out a new format and using the three floors of eparo and mertus for the conference.
It's a bit of a back to the roots, as the first two Working Products conferences took place on the premises of eparo - back then in Altona Nord.

Production school Altona - Great catering from nice people!

We have been working with the Altona Production School for over 10 years now. First only at the World Usability Day and then since 2016 also for the Working Products Conference.
The Altona Production School is a special kind of school. Here, young people can catch up on their first general school-leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss). What makes it special are the various workshops (carpentry, painting, gastronomy, Internet and graphics), where the young people learn a craft.
